Christina Welzer is a Korean-American interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, where she is currently a member of Flower Shop Collective, a studio and art hub that cultivates the ideas of emerging artists working towards more equitable futures. Her work addresses the conflict and connection between beauty and rage, and is inspired by the practice of burying loud, ugly emotions beneath a smooth, sleek surface.
All projects are centered around a process-oriented, illustrative core that join to create hypnotic, hybrid experiences. Her works have been exhibited at Tunnel Projects for Miami Art Week, Focus Art Fair NYC, and published on Far-Near, Artsy.net, Chinatown Futures Vol. 1,2 and AAP Association Vol. 9. She received her BFA from Cornell University in May of 2019.
