Invisible Monsters (2019) looks at different ways to depict a thing that can be felt but not seen, and hopes to give weight and form to the intersection between solid material and light. Using clear glass, barely-there line work, and high index glass beads, the viewer can play with the moments before a thing vanishes or the brief second after it is caught. The tower emulates a modern-day totem pole, and is made up of iconographic carvings of faces and monsters. Each of the images printed in wood, glass, and ink, function as independent pieces in their own right, but together, they form a structure that announces presence and power.
